Course Overview: This course encourages creative thinking, allowing kids to work on projects that are both visually appealing and functional. As they create stories, games, animations, and more, they develop critical communication skills as they learn to share their ideas with others. Kids that are starting out begin with Scratch Junior interface and elevate to Scratch 3.0. The learning happens in a gamified environment where all the teaching takes place in a block-based language.
Learning goals:
Log into the Scratch platform and create a user ID and password to save games
Know what Scratch is and how to code using blocks.
Learners will Know how to use backgrounds, costumes, and sprites.
Learners will Know how and when to use if/then conditional blocks, loops, and variables.
Learners will Know how to use the sensing, sounds, and operator blocks
Students will create their own video game on Scratchplatforms
Cooperate with other students to provide constructive feedback
Code using blocks and check the results
Create fun projects under the Scratch environment
Teachers’ Expertise: Our experienced teachers are well-versed in Scratch programming and are dedicated to making learning fun and accessible. They have a strong background in computer science education and are committed to helping students grasp programming concepts through engaging and interactive lessons. Fun class projects will be incorporated
Necessary Requirement before the class: Students will be guided on the scratch platforms and given the correct resources. Students must have a laptop, good internet, headphones, pen and paper.
PARENTAL GUIDANCE: Parents can join to observe the different games and artifacts being produced in the class. Also Students activities and tasks should be monitored.
