Learning Goals:

  • Learn about Minecraft, including its meaning, how to download and install it on your computer.
  • Learn to play and maneuver in Minecraft: Education Edition
  • Understand the importance of events in coding
  • Describe the difference between relative player position and absolute world position in Minecraft
  • Alter the Minecraft landscape by coding with coordinates
  • Alter the Minecraft landscape through coding with variables
  • Code with a variety of conditional blocks to automate their agent to find and collect important resources
  • Alter the Minecraft landscape through coding Design an original creative project to change their Minecraft world through coding an automated solution with functions
  • Explore Scratch assets, focusing on backdrops and sprites, and understand their significance in creating projects.
  • Gain proficiency in working with sprites, which are characters or objects that you can control and animate.
  • Learn about backdrops, the backgrounds of your projects, and how to customize them to enhance your creations.
  • Develop basic programming skills by creating scripts, which are sets of instructions that control the behavior of sprites and backdrops in Scratch projects.

Necessary Requirement before the class: 
Students will be guided on Demo exercises on the Minecraft interface and then play games on the Minecraft interface. When offline, students can download the scratch app to play games too.
