Digital Arts and Animation Course
Course Overview:
This class teaches students the core principles of digital art and animations using different Scratch animations languages. Students are taught with tools that make digital art with digital technology. Students are able to create mind blowing images on the computer or hand-drawn images scanned into a computer and then finished with one of the Adobe tools. All students are introduced to a particular software, guided to create sketches, design several layers and colors, and add final details to reach a digital illustration. Students will be able to create different project pieces and share with friends.
Learning Goals:
- Students will be able to approach digital art as a studio art discipline, within a broader understanding of popular culture and new media arts;
- Students will be able to develop the problem solving skills to succeed and move forward in a constantly evolving field;
- Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the history of new media and how to contextualize their practice within that field;
- Demonstrate the ability to independently and proactively research and problem solve
- Students, through the senior capstone experience, demonstrate the ability to apply scholarly and/or creative research in visual, written, and oral context;
- Create a body of work that shows their technical, artistic, and conceptual skills and is competitive with their peers in digital arts;
- Develop the work ethic, creativity, curiosity, collaborative spirit, and critical self-reflection necessary for ongoing growth in a constantly evolving field of digital arts.
- Create several project output from class learning
Teachers Expertise:
Our tutors and coaches are well vetted, and seasoned with many years of classroom experience teaching kids of different ages and backgrounds. We adopt the easiest ways and methodologies for our learners. Class projects will bring all the learning home.
Students Supply List:
Students will require a Laptop, good internet connection, headphones, pen and paper. Other resources will be provided in-class
