Course Overview:
This course helps build a strong foundation in programming using the Minecraft interface.
Minecraft is a Java-based game platform that allows an interface described as an “Online Lego” which allows players to build virtual structures across different environments and terrains. It is about placing blocks and having adventures within a creative space with a drive to survive. Minecraft gives players unlimited opportunities to be creative and make their own world.
Students can build, explore and be creative while learning the major elements of coding. Minecraft presents four different modes for kids, Creative, Survival, Hardcore and Adventure. The benefits of Minecraft include developing problem-solving and design skills, improving computer literacy, mathematical and analytical skills, to learn coding, game development, and collaboration. Learners will be exposed to a special training mode to develop.
Learning Goals:
- Understand the definition of the programming language.
- Learn about Minecraft, including its meaning, how to download and install it on your computer.
- Learn to play and maneuver in Minecraft: Education Edition
- Understand the importance of events in coding
- Describe the difference between relative player position and absolute world position in Minecraft
- Alter the Minecraft landscape by coding with coordinates
- Alter the Minecraft landscape through coding with variables
- Code with a variety of conditional blocks to automate their agent to find and collect important resources
- Alter the Minecraft landscape through coding Design an original creative project to change their Minecraft world through coding an automated solution with functions
- Understand iteration and Design an original creative project to automate a solution with iteration
- Understand arrays, it’s in coding as a collection of related items List examples of arrays in real life
- Find opportunities to code your agent to behave intelligently in Minecraft
- Design an original creative project to teach your agent to intelligently adapt to the Minecraft environment
- Demonstrate your learned coding skills and apply them in a new way.

Teachers Expertise:
Our experienced teachers are well-versed in Minecraft programming and are dedicated to making learning fun and accessible. They have practical tutoring experience with a strong background in computer science education and are committed to helping students grasp programming concepts through engaging and interactive lessons. Fun class projects will be incorporated.
Students Supply List:
Students will require a Laptop, good internet connection, headphones, pen and paper.
Parental Guidance:
Monitor and track your child activity on Minecraft. There are some additional resources that parents can do together with their children at home:
– Learn to play by watching short videos
– Complete Minecraft build challenges
– Explore lessons and curriculum
– Find technical support.
