Scratch Programming
Course Overview:
This course introduces learners to the basics of “Scratch Programming Language”. Scratch is a beginner-friendly programming language that allows students to create interactive stories, games, and animations. Scratch promotes computational thinking and problem solving skills; creative teaching and learning; self-expression and collaboration; and equity in computing. Throughout the course, students will learn programming through hands-on activities using Scratch. It is a coding language with a simple visual that allows creation of stories, animations and games in a collaborative way. With Scratch, children can program their own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share the creations with others in the online community. Course is compatible for every age. Register your kids to prepare them for high-earning careers of the future.
Learning Goals:
- Understand the definition of a programming language.
- Learn about Scratch, including its meaning, how to download and install it on your computer.
- Explore Scratch assets, focusing on backdrops and sprites, and understand their significance in creating projects.
- Gain proficiency in working with sprites, which are characters or objects that you can control and animate.
- Learn about backdrops, the backgrounds of your projects, and how to customize them to enhance your creations.
- Develop basic programming skills by creating scripts, which are sets of instructions that control the behavior of sprites and backdrops in Scratch projects.
- Students will learn to develop their own quality 2D/3D games and applications
- Students will understand the golden secrets behind how computer programs work
- Learners will be prepared to take on Web development, app development, and game development

Necessary Requirement before the class:
Students will be guided on Demo exercises on the Minecraft interface and then play games on the minecraft interface. When offline, students can download the scratch app to play games too. Students will require laptops, good internet, headphones, pen and paper. Other resources will be provided in class.
PARENTAL GUIDANCE:
Parents should monitor and track their child’s activity while using the Scratch platform.
